“I’m here to chew bubble gum and kick ass. And I’m all outta bubble gum.” The great line spoken by wrestler-cum-actor “Rowdy” Roddy Piper. Piper is a homeless drifter stopping off in L.A. He notices some strange activity at the church across the street from the shelter. Digging deeper, he finds specially manufactured sunglasses that allow him to see the aliens that have invaded earth. All the powerful, rich people are from another planet, while the working-class and the sycophantic are humans. Guess it was the only way Carpenter could make sense of the greed of the ’80s.
