In the Movie Habit inbox this week were two press releases about great new programs from local theater chains. One is showing $5 movies every day of the week; another is bringing back classic blockbusters — for one night only — on the biggest screen in the state!

How to See a Movie for $5

With ticket prices near the $10 mark, every little bit helps. And although some of us have been known to go to the pre-noon matinee at the AMC theaters (also for $5), some people might prefer see their horror films in the evening.

Thanks, then to the Colorado Cinemas for bringing back the $5 twilight matinee show. As the press release says, “the $5 price is good at all 10 Colorado Cinemas, 7 days per week for films starting from 4:00-6:00PM”

The Big, Big, Big Screen Experience

The Continental has long been the favorite theater of most Movie Habit writers. Some of our fondest memories are from seeing big tentpole blockbusters on the enormous, curved screen.

Their giant screen is the biggest in the state. And although they added five additional screens a few years ago, the big screen remained untouched and unshrunk.

Thanks, then, to the management at the Continental for bringing back some of these favorites for a one-show run on the big screen. Every Wednesday at 9:00 PM and and every Saturday morning at 10:00 AM, for early Fall 2006, you can catch another favorite. (Visit the Boulder Film Calendar to sign up for day-of-show reminders for whichever movies you want to see.)
